In the village of Subasi, in the Yildizeli district of Sivas Province in central Turkey, the village headman, Ferhat Meran, found a mushroom weighing about 20 kilograms. It was carried into the village, and residents gathered to look at it. Photographs were then shared on social media and spread beyond the village. Local reports describe it as among the largest mushrooms seen in the area in recent years. The species has not been identified. Taskopru Postasi, a local paper in Kastamonu Province, reported it on June 24.
