In the Rural Municipality of Biggar No. 347, in Saskatchewan, Canada, the council on 16 September 2025 approved a hog barn, with conditions.

The barn is a farrow-to-finish operation of 750 to 1,000 head.

There were three conditions: liquid manure to be injected directly into the soil and not spread on frozen or snow-covered ground; the manure store to be covered with a layer of straw to keep down the smell; and a shelterbelt of at least four or five rows to be planted on the east side of the barn and lagoon, along their length, by 2027.

Before the discussion, one councillor declared a pecuniary interest and left.
