2026年6月25日、カンボジア・コンポンチャム州の小さな村ベク・アンロンのドリアンが集合商標に登録され、偽物と区別するため一つ一つにQRコードが付くことになった。June 25, 2026 — Durian from the small village of Bek Anloung in Kampong Cham, Cambodia, was registered as a collective mark, and each fruit will now carry a QR code to tell it from imitations.

Durian grown in Bek Anloung, a community in Araks Tnot commune of Stung Trang district, Kampong Cham province, has been officially registered as a Collective Mark, the Ministry of Commerce announced on June 25. Officials describe the move as strengthening intellectual property protection and boosting the value and reputation of Cambodian agricultural products.

The registration was made on June 13 by the Ministry of Commerce together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, which simultaneously awarded Cambodia Good Agricultural Practices certification to the Bek Anloung durian community.

Bek Anloung durian is prized for its distinctive flavour, but traders have for years falsely marketed durians from elsewhere under the Bek Anloung name, undermining its reputation and market value. The geographical identification label combined with a QR code system is intended to prevent fraudulent origin claims while assuring quality and safety.

The Bek Anloung durian community currently consists of 162 member orchards covering roughly 706 hectares, together supplying about 4,000 tonnes of durian to market each year. Similar Collective Marks have already been registered for other Cambodian specialty products, including Battambang coconut custard and Siem Reap num banh chok.
